The environment we live in gives us imperial inputs to navigate us making us dynamic creatures. 95% -may be more, of it is visual. If we are all blind our world will be drastically different. Visual inputs are mostly responsible for mobility of creatures on earth.
What I am going to propose is a system more advanced and efficient navigation system for creature mobility. Well these creatures are not organic they are computers, or robots.
The system depends on GPS tracking and wireless communication. This will be an advanced Google Earth. The creatures of this environment will get their bearings by GPS and accelerometers built into them. The system needs a centralised mapping system of the whole environment we live in.
These creatures won't need eyes or any visual inputs to find their locations. To know their bearings they will use a centralised Google Earth database and a GPS tracker to find their bearings.
One important aspect will be Google Earth database will be updated and fine tuned with inputs of its users. Then this database will know all nooks and corners of the environment. The creature with the GPS tracker don't need eyes to know it's environment.
This type of system will have lot of advantages over biological Gaia environment. Because the number of environment factors will be greatly reduced.
This method will be much faster in processing data of the environment and very much suitable for semiconductor electronics or even the next generation advancement of it.
These robots do not need eyes, or any visual inputs to get their bearings of their environment, but will be using it to update the central database for the benefit of others.
We might need a more accurate GPS system, with more satellites, that are helped with ground based units to improve accuracy.
These systems will first appear in transport, to have driverless cars, trains and aircraft.
The robot in my house will first track every static thing in my house and record the data in a central database. The dynamic things in my house will have GPS trackers in them they will be advertising their location to others. This type of system will be a complete system that gives out location details to everyone. This is an alternate to our vision using light.
This can be referred as next generation species over organic, a robotic system using GPS tracking.
Mobility is a large part of becoming a species. Location awareness and locomotion are the integral parts of mobility. We have already made vast advances in locomotion but we lack far behind in location awareness. This is mainly due to our efforts trying to
emulate organic species ability to use light to do this. GPS tracking is more suited for artificial intelligence.
Even with the current technology a localised system inside a residential home can be created. Wifi system where multiple transmitters inside the house take the responsibility of GPS satellites. Each movable item in the house will have a tracker, this will give location and orientation of the item. Each different type of item will be identified as universals-like chair, and then identified their specific attributes by a scanner-or better the manufacturer of the item gives the scan and other attributes and made available when the user buys the item. The manufacturer can embed the tracker in the item. The source of energy can be a solar cell. The house builder will give all the details of construction where the details of all the locations are made available relative to the transmitters. A reboot don't need visual inputs to work inside the house. It can analyze the data from transmitters and household items to do the work inside the house.
